आपल्या अवयवांचं रूप, रंग, आकार कसा/किती असावा हे सर्व जनुकं, अनुवंशिकता, संप्रेरकं, पर्यावरण ई. गोष्टी ठरवत असतात. त्यातील काही गोष्टी जन्मतःच ठरतात तर काही जन्मानंतर. संप्रेराकांबद्दल (हार्मोन्स) तुम्ही ऐकलं असेलच. मुलगा किंवा मुलगी वयात येत असताना त्यांच्या शरीरात काही बदल दिसायला सुरुवात होते त्याला हा संप्रेरकांचा प्रभावच कारणीभूत असतो. उदा. मुलींच्या शरीराला विशेषतः छातीला जी गोलाई प्राप्त होते ती ह्या संप्रेरकांमुळेच. शरीराला गोलाई प्राप्त करून देणारी ही संप्रेरकं मुलांच्या शरीरातही असतात पण खूप कमी प्रमाणात. कधी कधी त्यांचे प्रमाण अधिक असेल तर किशोरवयात हे बदल होत असतना मुलांची छाती थोडी मोठी दिसू शकते. त्यावर खरं तर काही उपाय करण्याची आवश्यकता नाही कारण बहुतेकवेळी एक ते दोन वर्षात ही अतिरिक्त वाढ आपोआप निघून जाते. पण तरीही तुम्हाला डॉक्टरांना भेटायचं असेल तर तुमच्या नेहमीच्या डॉक्टरला सुरुवातीला भेटा. ते योग्य निदान करुन पुढील डॉक्टरांकडे तुम्हाला पाठवू शकतील.
